In the Land of Camellias
In 2024, we were invited by Portico Magazine to create a series of images for an article by Alexandra Prado Coelho, featuring the Chá Camélia project. This small company, based in Vila do Conde, cultivates tea (Camellia sinensis) and was founded by Nina Gruntkowski.
The initiative is quite unexpected, given the climatic conditions of the region, and is probably the only tea plantation project in mainland Portugal.
We aimed to capture the rhythm of the work — in particular, the delicate hand movements of their technique for picking the leaves without damaging them. At the same time, we sought to convey the tranquility of the place, emphasizing its peaceful atmosphere.
